Early Beginnings in Dog Training
I embarked on my dog training journey in the mid-eighties, focusing primarily on obedience training and showingRottweilers and Dobermans. During this time, I had the privilege of learning from several professional mentors who equipped me with a wealth of skills. My interest in tracking grew, leading me to earn tracking titles for a couple of Rottweilers and achieve Champion status in the show ring.
Challenges and New Beginnings
Frequent relocations due to my military service forced me to pause my dog training activities. However, in 2016, my wife and I settled in Starbuck, her hometown. This stability allowed me to rekindle my passion for working with dogs. I welcomed a new Rottweiler, Kain, into our home. His intelligence reignited my enthusiasm for training.
Pursuing Certification
In 2023, following Kain’s passing from cancer, I decided to pursue certification as a dog trainer. My wife brought another intelligent canine into our lives, a Cavapoo. Her presence reignited my love for training even further. Encouraged by my wife, I enrolled in the CATCH Academy to become a certified dog trainer. I will receive my certification in 2025.
Building My Dog Training Business
While preparing for certification, I began offering my dog training services to clients, achieving significant success. As a tribute to Kain, who reignited my passion for training, I named my business after him. My dedication to dog training is unwavering, and I bring this passion to every dog I work with, ensuring they receive the best obedience training possible.
